That's the one, my copy is a little dog eared after all these years.  I was 14 in 1974 and BMX stuff was still unavailable where I lived.  A few of the kids at my Jr. High had made their own as that was the only way to have one. I did the same - with an old StingRay frame my neighbor gave to me.  I bought a set of motorcycle MX handlebars (with the cross bar) and narrowed them by cutting both ends of the grip area down. I had to use a forged stem and pried it open with a hammer to get the handlebars to fit in, then I used shims to make them grip when I clamped it.  I used a 20x2.125 tractor grip rear tire, and a 20x1.75 tractor grip front tire.  The bike also had a Krate spring fork and a Krate sissy bar for suspension. I painted it black and ran the whole year with it. I thought it was pretty cool.  In 1975 they started selling the BMX accessories in stores, stuff like dual clamp handlebar stems and MX handlebars.  I didn't stick with it though, I went back to kustom bikes again. I was in Canada when the BMX thing rolled out in California., and it took a while for the trend to show up north of the border. I wish I had photographed my home-made BMX'er like I did with my other bikes. That's what I remember.  I also recall that BMX eventually pushed out the high-rise bikes and accessories from the stores.
