It is a 69 frame Stamped a 70 The frame was painted purple under the green but the forks were only painted green. It looks to be original green paint and not repainted. It has the white 70 persons seat and sissybar. The chainguard says Stelleto CS 5 The rust on the chrome and haze on the plastic shifter cover seem to come off easy. Not sure about the pedals if they are original. Please feel free to make any comment on the bike. No offense will be taken.. LOL Just trying to figure out what I have... It is also a 5 speed model, and in 1969 the green version was a 3 speed. I feel it is a early 1970 model with left over parts. If it has purple under neath it could be a factory repaint, I have seen a hand full of those now. I would add the Slingshot fork, and flaming stack or build it how you like it. This bike being a 1969 frame it would have been purple in that year so when they made it into a 1970 they probably painted it green like the new models to clear it out. JMO It makes more sense that it was purple and a 1969 third bar 5 speed frame being re-used. Really you can go any direction you decide. I had a mint green cs trophy that was purple underneath too. I sold it on ebay years ago as orig paint and had to give buyer back his money because paypal ruled in his favor. Bike only had 3-4 small chips in the whole bike and was close to nos. I explained to buyer about factory repaint and the nitwit still shipped it back. I got burnt for the shipping money and ended up with a bike with more chips! Thanks Huffy! I would restore the bike as a Stelleto it is much more rare then a green slingshot that everyone has. Also I beleive your frame was restamped as the 1st digits are deeper then the others I have seen this before too! If the seller listed it as orig paint maybe you can get your money back too! LOL, good luck with it, I had a nile green rail when they were new! Leo

The one I currently own is a 16x20 "Hummer" coaster which left the Ross factory as a Barracuda. You can clearly see the green paint under the purple that it's wearing now. I also owned a C-to-C Rail that had been painted over. Mark

Leo I could restore it as a Stelleto but didn't they have a 20 x 1.75 front tire. Mine has the 20 x 1 3/8 front wheel. If I do restore it as a stelleto do I have to paint it purple first then green... I do see the serial number stamped heavy on the first 2. Maybe someone stole the parts from the factory one at a time..LOL It seems to be a mismash of parts from 2 different years. It's probably going to be my keeper bike.

I have to get a master link for the chain. Sissybar clamps or another sissybar. I will upgrade the guard to a flaming stack and the shifter to a twin stick. You can use those safety washers from a newer bike, just bend the tab out and slide them into the holes. I think I did a comparison post in the resto tips section. Just a FYI if they are gone.

Yeah I think your right, I like the green seat also, or striped seats. They are not so easy to come buy in good shape. I just bought a bike to get a decent one not long ago.
