I think your bike maybe a 71 also. It has the same head badge as mine . The 72 Swinger had a decal head badge .

the first few number have a 71 in them, so maybe that would back that up,, smitty

Yes Smitty, they did come with the raised white letter Gran Tour G.T. tires. Your bike is definitely a 71 with the R71 serial number.

Here are a few more shots of the bike, since i now have 4 people interested who ever gives me the first post on this page that says I will take it...its yours...let me tell you what I know about the bike so you truely know what your getting, this was purchased from the original owner who had it inside for about the last 20 years, this was a kids bike he used to run around and never thought of as a collectable, that being said, the seat will need to be replaced, it needs a front brake and brake lever( I think i have one,) the sissy bar needs to be cleaned up, but is not as nice chrome wise as the rest of the bike, has brake rub in spots on the rear rim, front rim is very nice, rides and shifts, I have been riding it up and down the driveway...I told you the bad and now the good, you would never repaint this bike, the wording on the frame that says swinger V has some wear, but unlike the newer ones, its not a decal, that peels off, but its still very presentable for a used bike... the handlebars chrome is super nice, grips are great, This bike needs detailed, the fenders are not dented or bent up, im sure will clean up pretty darn nice...oh,,should mention, the shifter is missing the plastic cover. But it is cool bike for the price...its not nos or perfect..but it is a bike you do not see very often. Please note that I will ship at the best price i can and will get you a price for shipping if you decide you want it( I am in ohio and if you feel the shipping price will be to high for you.. you can back out of the deal) I understand shipping can make or break a deal, im sure the west coast will not be interested in this deal.. ....so it is 200.00 plus shipping. As i said, whoever says they want it and post it on the site here that you want it....its yours. I will try to answer any other questions i can for you. Thanks smitty...
