I finally got around to (tentatively) naming my project. So...first pic
is the old bike (24 inch schwinn) in it's sad state of "somebody
painted every part of me black and proceeded to crash me into a
dumpster" or so it looks. Second is the beetle. (Yeah, yeah, yeah...NOT
actually a scarab, but what are we, bike nerds or entomologists?!?)
Third pic is the primered frame (my first ever non-rattle can job! I'm scared of the actual paint though.) Fourth pic, and final for today, is a partial pile o' parts to be attached. I have a nice set of fenders, and all the various nuts/bolts/bearings are lost in a drawer somewhere. Things still to do involve paint, lacing a rim to the 3 speed coaster brake (another first for me), and figuring out a sissy bar. Actually, I still have to figure out the shifter cable and location, too. I stupidly forgot to mock this up before I primed it, so the first time will be the last time as far as putting it together.
Somewhere along the line I have to draw up a logo for the chainguard, too.

Fun!
