I live in the country and can get nothing here other than Dial Up, or Satellite. I keep a Land Line Phone, and Satellite every month and considered going to some kind of cable type Phone/Internet package. I have Dish Network and love it so hate to give that up. Just shopping around?

(25+ Posts) Posts: 35 (02/08/10 13:50:40) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	hey ron, i think im getting ready to try out shawneelink, weve always had mediacom cable/internet. we got direct tv and dumped the cable, it was $50 for internet and $18 for basic cable, when we dropped the cable, they tacked on a "$16 user connection fee" so the bill dropped $2. honestly though mediacom sucks, its fast, but they have "blackouts" quite often in west frankfort. might be worth it with an intro package but after its up, its not worth it in my opinion.

(2500+) Posts: 17347 (02/08/10 14:18:58) AKA-Raleigh Ron! â�» Site Owner/Operator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Yeah my father in law had Shawneelink Dial up and it was bad for him, he ended up going to AOL dial up now, its slow but consistant, lol I am using Hughesnet right now, and it is pretty fast and very rarely goes down. its around $65 a month, and my Phone is on a flat rate $75 a month call anywhere plan. Maybe I don;t have it so bad? lol

Posts: 3496 (02/08/10 18:26:16) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	We have insight cable Internet. i would never go back to satellite or dial up. i thought AOL went out with pagers..lol not sure what we pay, but we have the highest speed they offer. my wife needs it for her job so its not an opinion for us..

We pay $110.00 a month for a bazillion channels for the TV and High Speed 20.0 internet access. My wife has a "mi-fi" through Verizon wireless that she pays $49.00 per month for, she uses it when we are on the road and up to 5 other PC's can connect to it at the same time.
