I'm having a problem removing the handlebars. See attached picture.. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/0b92593b7750f9a0601b83c5a2157e4449325cd.peg Red arrow - nut doesn't tighten or loosen I can turn it and it's just spinning leaving a gap Blue arrow. Yellow arrow - Not able to remove handlebars. I had the handle bar out and recently put them back in and now they seem stuck in the head tube. Any advice helpful. Thanks in advance.

Is the wedge still "wedged" in place? If possible, screw the bolt back in to the goose neck about 1/4 to 1/2 inch and use a rubber mallet to whack it
down into the headtube. Once you break the wedge loose, it should all come out. If they goose neck was just put into the headtube without the wedge and it
stuck, there may be other problems at hand. Kenny.

Since you had the bars out we know they are not rusted in place. Unfortunately, the only thing I can think of is hitting it with a hammer. Wrap the gooseneck
in a rag and hit it from underneath with a hammer to see if you can force the gooseneck up and out. If it was rusted in place a quick hit on the top of the
gooseneck normally loosens them up. . Sometimes you just have to go caveman on these things.

Gan you go up through the bottom of the fork tube ? If so get a long punch and tap it out that way or like DAG said you might have to go caveman on it !

pour a weak mixture of caustic soda and water thru the hole where the stem bolt gpes wait about an hour
then the wedge should move |
