Hey Guys,
I'v been doing the bike thing for probably all of 25+ years now and haven't been on a forum in quite sometime.I started restoring and building antique bikes at first then started to ratrod a few to do some serious milage on the local bike trails here in Connecticut and Rhode Island.Approximately six years ago I took a serious liking to the Schwinn adult size Spoiler and XL Stingray which I overhauled with the big Sturmey Archer 3 speed and all goodies needed to do our at a minimum 20 milers. So far the longest ride was 48 miles roundtrip which was done on the Heritage Trail that starts in Farmington Ct. and now actually ends in Southwick Mass and totals approximately 60 miles roundtrip on the XL StingRay.We have a good group of riders that get together to ride and we usually use the Farmington Canal Greenway that runs from Chesire Ct. down to New Haven. We also like to go down to West Haven down by the shore on Sat nites, its our shortest ride but one that is really beautiful down by the water.Another beautiful bike run in Rhode Island is the East Bay bike path which is a scenic 28 mile round trip waterside pedal,we try to make it up there a few times a year. When I get the chance I'll post some pics of some of our bike runs both old and new, matter of fact with the good weather so far we actually did our season opener on NewYears Day !!Looking forward to hearing from brother bikers!!
