I sent him my video and explained that he has to keep the box the right size or it will cost double. We agree on $50-60 for shipping. Then the guys goes and gets a box that is larger than 130" which costs more to ship. Now the seller wants me to pay more after the deal is done. The guys in Texas so I know I could get a bike ere and back for less than the $140 he is wanting me to pay now. Should I have to pay him more than agreed just because he did not follow my instructions? Whats your thoughts? Last Edited By: RailRider 01/24/12 20:27:39. Edited 3 times.

I've sold items myself that came in overwieght, or whatever and I ALWAYS wind up eating the freight 'extras', even on one accidently checked as 'free ship' :( Argue witht he guy ( nicely if possible ) .

I too bought a bike from Texas on Ebay shipping said 110.00 which I thought was high, but I wanted the bike and bought it. So he emails me say he wont disassemble the bike for shipping,Also he wont take to local bike store I found to ship,Will only ship as freight with RNL carriers. Cost me 245.00 to get it here. Some people have no common sense. He built a crate to ship it in then tied it down with rope? luckily it arrived in good shape. I probably should have !@!%+$$ to Ebay oh well live and learn. Good luck

I already paid $50-60 range. He now says he will split it with me which is still only $68 range so whats a few more bucks right? lol

I got one of my side hacks shipped from California to st. Louis for $37. FedEx wanted $175 because it was oversize.

The guy later said shipping would be over $200. I politely reminded him of his quote and asked if he would repackage the bike. He said it was ready to ship and then agreed to pay the extra shipping costs, because it would be too much work to repackage. When I got the bike, I understood what he meant. I jokingly call this my "crate" bike. It took me 90 minutes to set it free,.............over 80 screws were holding it in place.

However I hate to hang with with it all since he is doing me a favor by shipping when he did not want to in the first place. I just wish people would listen when important info is being told. 130" box is over sized anything larger is double over sized which means you pay double. Plus he went to a UPS Store and they charge about 12% or more over what UPS online charges.
