PART 1:
Monday night Dave (DAG) and I went up to Long Island, NY to pick up some parts from Steve (Apollo Nut). Steve had 3 bare Apollo frames he was going to scrap so I took them not knowing what I was going to do with them. Tuesday I finished putting together my '71 Apollo with the few parts I needed that I got from Steve the night before. I know it must be nice having all these days off, I was on vacation this week. lol
. As I was assembling the Apollo I was wondering why they never made a 24" Apollo. Now I knew what I was going to do with the frames I had. Wednesday morning I got right to work.
I started with the 2 worst frames:

Cut apart the frames to give a 2" stretch to the rear:
Welded the bottom bracket/seat tube to the frame. All these tubes had to be lengthened by careful cutting. Here is the frame sitting on some mountain bike wheels I had laying around. Notice the front section of the frame is still short or the same length as the 20" Apollo:

I did the same thing with the front end of the frame. You can see how much longer the frame is by how far off the top bars in the rear are:

This is the part where I got rolling along at lightning speed and forgot to take pictures
. Oh well. I cut and welded the rest of the frame together then gathered up some parts and took it for a ride. NO BRAKES:
At this point I thought the build would be stalled until I could gather some parts.
