When I got my first avenger 5 for christmas back in 69 the AMF bike were quite rare back then and I was the only one to have one,I have two more now and do see
one now and then but the Huffys and schwinns were much more popular around here.

I have a mid to late 60's 24" AMF Sportmaster musclebike that has been sitting on the backburner for years now. Eventually I'll get the funds
together to make something of it.

My one avenger is a 68 and I bought it from the west coast and it still has the original tires on it and I found a close reproduction as they are a bit too old
to be riding on,my second one is a rebadged version called a westpoint and I think its a 70 model and it also had the original redline tires still on it but
they were shot and would like to find another set but put blackwall tires on it for the time being. The Westpoint is not as nice as my avenger and I planned on
using it as a reguilar rider but only picked up a couple miles as I have too many other hobbies (vintage cars etc) that keep me busy,I got to do something
with the seat since it does not seem as comfotable as when I was 10.

I have always liked the Avenger bikes. I just haven't found one in good enough condition that I can afford. I have seen some really nice ones in the past.

I remember a few years ago that there was an incomplete 5 speed bike on ebay that had the exact same parts as your Westpoint but was called a Mustang. Had a
buy it now price of $99.00 plus shipping. I knew I should have grabbed it. Your bikes look good JYD. Damn good. great job on rescuing them. Ride and enjoy.

I paid 300.00 plus shipping for the 68 Avenger 5 and I got the Westpoint off ebay for 85.00 and it was in Columbus so I just picked it up,I have noticed the
manufactures have sold them with plenty of different names and will have to look into the Mustang brand as I would like to get all the others if possible.

When I got the Westpoint it was completely original except for the handle grips,it was a shame that the original redline tires were shot as I could never find any to put back on it. It had been treated a little rough as the rims had plenty of broken spokes and the rims were bent but did not looked to have sat outside so it cleaned up easy but has plenty of scratches.

My AMF's were a little different but here is my old Flying Wedge I used to own!
