Just had to pick this Coppertone Racer up, faded decals, scratched paint and all. Have to get an inner tube to see how it rides, I can't remember having one of these lightweights, seems like they're getting more popular with entry level collectors. Wheels are pretty rusty, other chrome may polish up, pics make it look better than it is. I will have to compare the ride to my 69 Fastback, a great rider.

Speaking of a good ride, I remember how great my brother's Apple Krate felt to ride with the suspension, such a cushy ride. But my Krates and Stingrays don't pedal quite as good as a Fastback, easier because of the tire difference, and maybe being lighter. So I got to thinking last night while taking the dog for a run on my 69 Red Fastback that the ride could be made better with a narrow, lightweight springer, maybe painted forks/struts, and Krate style sissy bar springs. Has anyone done a Fastback like this? I'm thinking someone has but I'm getting old n forgetful. What were we discussing? Oh yeah, the seat is comfortable, even for a fatar$e like me.
