Are raffles illegal in your state? I am a cop in my state and am aware of no such laws here.

I guess it could, but my idea was to have the raffle money pay for the bike thats given away. For example if the bike costs $150-$200 and I collect $150-$200 then its all even. If more was collected I could donate the extra to cars for kids. I actually figured I would go in the hole on the deal, and lose money so didn't think of the legal thing. I will check into it, maybe I need to apply for a non-profit certificate for the Muscle Bike Forums?

Good Idea. Is the money going to charity? If not you may want to rethink your idea. You may have legal issues

If I were to have a raffle for a free bicycle here on the site do you think there would be enough interest?

Here's the basic idea: I post a bicycle, and anyone interested has to buy a "virtual raffle ticket" for like $10, and their names all enter to win. once all the names are put into a hat (or something) and I pull the winning number/name and post it. Whoever wins gets the bike shipped to them free of charge(minus $10)

Lets here some input here!

I would like to get more ideas involved, but time and money are sometimes an issue. If there's enough interest it will pay for itself.

May not be able to do it every month, but 1 time a year or every 6 months might be possible.

P.S. Project bike or decent original??? Either way you could always sell it to somebody else too!
