Hows it going ya'll? A good buddy of mine told me about this site, so I desided to look it up, and join. I love the site. The layout/design is awesome. Members seem to be pretty cool too. My name is Ricky (but y'all can call me Rick). I'm 20 years old, and I've been biking since the age of 5. Got interested in bicycle mechanics around the age of 11, became an avid bike mechanic around the age of 15..MAYBE 16. I didn't get interested in the collecting and restoring of classic bicycles/muscle bikes untill I met a dude one of my freinds knew. I helped the guy out, and he gave me my first classic in the Spring of this year for helping him. A 1968 Columbia Playboy...and I have had the itch to collect, rebuild, and restore ever since. I have a total of 11 bicycles, both Modern, and Classic. I'm also a bass guitar player. Started playing at the age of 15...and I'm still not that good. But anyway, heres my introduction. I also have a Facebook, so if y'all wanna "freind me",...

Checked out this site after posting on Craigslist that I was looking for a Huffy Rail or Huffy Wheel bike. I would even take a frame from these bikes but anyway had these bikes when I was a kid and would like to build another one. A guy answered my ad and sent me this direction to this site. I'm into vintage snowmobile restorations and bikes will be a new hobby, Thanks, Mark

OK, so perhaps I've become untethered, but I have it in my craw to start a new project, namely. building a Stingray OR (and preferably) a Raleigh Fireball. When I was a kid I had a Raleigh Fireball which my parents donated to our church fair WITHOUT my permission, and so my preference for a Fireball project. I love the look of the Stingray however, and it looks as though parts for the Stingray are infinitely more accessible than the Fireball, so with that in mind, it may behoove me to begin with the Stingray. I fully plan on riding it by the way. I am a 47 year old, 6' 2" male and would like to try and build one which will accommodate me. Am I dreaming here or is it feasible? Anyway, thought I'd intro myself anyway. Thanks for reading! BTW, if anyone knows where I can find a Fireball frame, by all means let me know!

Hey all! I'm a newbie to this forum, just having aquired a muscle bike that I have been wanting for many many years. I got one of these brand new for Christmas 1967, and some bonehead stole it in late 1968. It was my first ever new bike. Many years went by, I've had dozens of other bikes since, but I always wanted that muscle bike back. Certain life situations prevented some opportunities to buy a replacement. Then, as luck would have it, I had the $$$, and a bike presented itself for sale. It was a virtual twin to what I had...couldn't believe it! I bid, and patiently waited.....and WON! It was like CHristmas 1967 all over again. And the search for my "holy grail" had finally paid off.

Thanks to Steve at Ratrodbikes.com, I am once again a very happy camper.

My name is Russ, and I am a bicycle addict!!!!!

Like I needed another one, I am now off and running at my first humble attempt at a custom Krate. I didn't want to molest a vintage bike, so I opted for a late re-issue to work with. Your basic BFK, showed up yesterday new in box. Had to put it together real quick (since it was mostly done already) and give it a ride. Awesome! My first passion is air cooled Volkswagens, and at the last camp out there were several vintage and re-issue Stingrays running around. I had to have one.

The basic plan is to incorporate as many old school vintage parts as I can justify. 5 speed hub, Atom front hub, old style reflectors / headlight / tail. Paint will be PPG Rattlesnake, with obnoxious yellow lettering. One of my favorite bikes as a kid was my friend's metallic brown and yellow Scrambler. . . . the yellow part stuck, but the root-beer 'looking' Rattlesnake is to tie into my '60 Singlecab (when it is done too). I've got a set of repro...
