Rediscovering my Bike: Columbia Mach 5

Well for the last month I have been organizing and getting my bike room together. This has given me a chance to finally afetr a year and a half, get my bikes out to enjoy them all together again.

As I have looked them over I have started to remember what I was doing to some of them before we moved here.

For instance my Columbia Mach 5 had its guard removed in plans of a repaint. Now for over year it has been without a guard and the guard has been laying around collecting dust.

I pulled it out a few days ago and fixed a few dings and sprayed it and it kind of gave me a chance to rediscover the bike. Builds new interest and reminds me why I like...

I don't spray bomb, so this only works with a spray gun.

Dollar store craft glitter ! Sometimes you just want to go over the edge, but
don't like the $$ attached.
How about $1.00 ?

All I do is get paint as close as I can for what I want. Then add Metal Flake to the mix..

Be sure not to add too much, it will be a learning process.

First two colors here are the best match..............

Hows it going ya'll? A good buddy of mine told me about this site, so I desided to look it up, and join. I love the site. The layout/design is awesome. Members seem to be pretty cool too. My name is Ricky (but y'all can call me Rick). I'm 20 years old, and I've been biking since the age of 5. Got interested in bicycle mechanics around the age of 11, became an avid bike mechanic around the age of 15..MAYBE 16. I didn't get interested in the collecting and restoring of classic bicycles/muscle bikes untill I met a dude one of my freinds knew. I helped the guy out, and he gave me my first classic in the Spring of this year for helping him. A 1968 Columbia Playboy...and I have had the itch to collect, rebuild, and restore ever since. I have a total of 11 bicycles, both Modern, and Classic. I'm also a bass guitar player. Started playing at the age of 15...and I'm still not that good. But anyway, heres my introduction. I bought this one a while back finally got to take it out of the box to get a few pics and start making plans. It is greasy, and dirty but looks decent. I did change the chain guard out already. I like this type better so I matched the factory yellow and sprayed it to match the bike, it came out pretty close.

I have owned a couple of these and they always are borderline needing repainted. I think I will live with this one.

P.S. If anyone needs the paint code let me know!
